Over-philosophising... is it a thing?

So today, whilst philosophising over my fashionably healthy oat porridge at the stove. I realised that perhaps seeking meaning in everything was not necessary. If we presume to know the meaning for something before we even start to engage with it, how will we ever get to know its true nature? And thus its true meaning? So over-philosophising is definitely a thing. *She said while philosophically gazing into the horizon of her laptop screen*. If I look at someone doing a funny looking dance (like we happened to do in yoga class the other day) my initial reaction would be: 'that dance looks funny. Those people must be funny if they are choosing to dance like that.' A bit harsh right? Turns out this funny dance we were doing was not only incredibly beneficial to moving the lymph around the body but, gasp!, it was FUN! If I had created meaning in my own mind about an observation, and then stopped myself from experiencing that observation properly because of my own interpretation,...

"What is with this constant demand from women for their men to be more sensitive?" Now don't get me wrong, I am generally in defense of the poor male who is often in a state of confused reprimand for doing something he didn't even know he was doing. But this above sentence is enough to send me on a rant. So here goes. What does it mean to be sensitive? And why is it considered or assumed to be a female-specific quality? Worse, nowadays, in this era of hipsters and pseudu-spirituals, being 'sensitive' has become the buzzword for being insecure. Instead of facing the challenges of being genuinely yourself in a social situation, the new coping mechanism is to hide behind a mask of 'sensitivity'. Although I wonder what one is sensitive to.... Sensitive towards your own feelings or towards those of others? This again refers to my theory that people function as self-centred beings or other-centred beings, and we cope with life accordingly.
