Over-philosophising... is it a thing?

So today, whilst philosophising over my fashionably healthy oat porridge at the stove. I realised that perhaps seeking meaning in everything was not necessary. If we presume to know the meaning for something before we even start to engage with it, how will we ever get to know its true nature? And thus its true meaning? So over-philosophising is definitely a thing. *She said while philosophically gazing into the horizon of her laptop screen*.

If I look at someone doing a funny looking dance (like we happened to do in yoga class the other day) my initial reaction would be: 'that dance looks funny. Those people must be funny if they are choosing to dance like that.' A bit harsh right? Turns out this funny dance we were doing was not only incredibly beneficial to moving the lymph around the body but, gasp!, it was FUN! If I had created meaning in my own mind about an observation, and then stopped myself from experiencing that observation properly because of my own interpretation, I would have never enjoyed or experienced that new moment, and I would have been as ignorant about it as before.

In other words - yes, find meaning! Understand what you see, do, feel, hear. But DO things. EXPERIENCE moments. Despite your initial impressions and personal interpretations (because they are, after all, only your opinion, not the truth) ENJOY something new, even if you never do it again. Helps with that developing sense of humour too :)

Have an amazing day dear humans.
